The holidays are a busy time for many of us, but experts say it’s important to remember to keep your pets safe.
Veterinarians say the best thing you can do to protect your pet is maintaining a comfortable environment, and perhaps keep them away from strangers.

Also, when it comes to the Thanksgiving dinner, it’s always best to avoid giving them table food.
“So, making sure that they’re not getting snacks, sweets, things with xylitol in them, sugar-free gum specifically. We definitely don’t want them to get into that. We don’t want them to have bones, fatty things like chicken skin, turkey skin, and the string that you tie your turkey up with. That is a very delicious treat for them. We definitely don’t want them to get into that,” said Katy Harris, DVM, Emergency Veterinary Care Centers.
